What is Poshmark?
Poshmark is a social commerce marketplace where you can buy or sell new or used clothing, shoes, and accessories. Recently, the platform has expanded to include home goods, beauty products, electronics, and more.
Why should I use Poshmark?
Anyone who wants to sell their unused clothing and accessories will find Poshmark to be a fun and easy platform to use. Whether you're just purging your closet and you want to sell a few items, or you're trying to create a side hustle and sell clothing on a regular basis, this app is a perfect fit for you.
How much does it cost to use Poshmark?
Poshmark keeps their fees fairly simple and easy to understand. There are no monthly or subscription fees, but they do take commission from every sale. For sales under $15, they take a flat commission of $2.95. For any sales of $15 or more, they take 20% commission. All shipping fees are paid for by the buyer, and Poshmark provides flat rate expedited shipping for $7.67 (USPS Priority Mail.) Poshmark handles all of the credit card fees, so that's one less thing for you to worry about. Your earnings are received after the sold goods are delivered to the customer. After you receive your earnings, you can spend it within Poshmark's marketplace, or you can have it deposited directly into your bank account.
Can I really make money by selling on Poshmark?
Yes! Just keep in mind that like everything else in life, you will need to put in the work to get good results. Many of the most successful Poshers (the name given to sellers on the app) sell on the platform as a full-time job. This is definitely achievable if you put some serious effort into it. In a little less than one year, I sold over 500 items for a net profit of $7,171.
Do I have to pay taxes on what I've sold?
Yes. Poshmark will provide a 1099-K Form to you if you sell $600 worth of merchandise or more within a tax year.
How do I set up an account?
It's very quick and easy to set up an account! Simply download the Poshmark app on your phone, or head over to poshmark.com.

When I first started selling on Poshmark, there was definitely a lot of trial and error involved. I played around with item descriptions, photos, when and how often I shared my listings.
